Letter Writing Marathon
Every month we receive hundreds of letters from prisoners across the state with requests for information, submissions to the newsletter and website, and contributions to developing our organizing strategies. Join us every 4th Saturday of the month at 1207 Chestnut Street for a letter writing marathon to help us catch up on our mail and ensure that our work is informed and led by the ideas, experiences and wisdom of our members behind the walls.
This is a great opportunity for people who are interested in Decarcerate PA’s work to learn more about our campaigns, as well as help do the powerful movement building work of connecting with our comrades on the inside. We’ll be here from 11-3, and are encouraging folks to stop by anytime during that window.
Can't make the marathon but want to help out? Help us buy stamps! Even just a $10 donation helps us send 20 letters! Donate online at http://decarceratepa.info/donate, or by mail at Decarcerate PA, PO Box 40764, Phila. PA 19107.

Philly District Attorney for the People Forum
On May 16th, the people of Philadelphia will vote in the primary for our new District Attorney. As you know, the Philly District Attorney has immense power when it comes to policing, incarceration, and sentencing, and this is our chance to vote in a DA who is accountable to us.We are building a movement to make sure the next District Attorney will support ending death by incarceration and clamp down on police abuse. And we need you to be involved.
Join CADBI and other groups for a Forum for District Attorney candidates on Tuesday, April 18th, from 5:30-8pm at Arch Street United Methodist at 55 N Broad St. (just a block north of City Hall). This is our one chance to publicly pressure candidates about their past actions and hold them accountable to the people of Philly. We will have the chance to ask each candidate direct questions about sentencing, police abuse, bail, and other issues, and see which candidates truly represent our values.
Childcare and Spanish translation are provided, and the space is wheelchair accessible. Can you join us at this forum to pressure the candidates?
Please spread the word, and let us know if you have any questions. You can get in touch with us by phone at 267-217-3372 or by email at email@example.com.
We hope to see you there!

The trial will start at 8:30 AM (confirmation still required). We will gather a little before the court room opens to distribute t-shirts that we’ll all be wearing that read ‘I Believe In A Right To Redemption’. There will also be a small rally with signs outside for all those who can’t fit in the court. It’s a small room and we expect that it will fill up.
